A tough Reader’s Choice question awaits us this week, so get ready to do a bit of soul-searching.

But before we get to that question, I’d like to invite you to visit some of the first-time players who decided to give the “Saturday Six” a try last week. (I hope you’re also visiting the regulars as well, which is much easier now that those all-important journal addresses you put in the comments are now automatically turned into hyperlinks.) If you were a first-time player and I missed you, please let me know.

Last week, Brandi, Quartr, and Rob played for the first time. I’m pretty sure it was also the first time for DePalma. Emma has played before but never posted that she played until last week, so be sure to visit her, too.

I missed Val last week as a first-time visitor. Sorry about that!

As for the first one to play, Beth beat everyone to the button! Congratulations, Beth! Scott had a good excuse for not being the first this week. In case you missed it, he proved that he can’t even take a simple plane ride without encountering a medical crisis!

To play you can either answer the questions in a comment here, or put the answers in an entry on your journal…but either way, leave a link to your journal so that everyone else can visit! (And if you’re playing for the first time, please be sure to say so in the comment!) Enjoy!

1. What was your favorite Halloween candy to receive as a child?

2. Of cities you’ve visited (that you don’t live in), which is your favorite and why?

3. What is the oldest appliance in your kitchen (and how old is it)?

4. How many broken bones have you suffered in your life time, and when was the most recent?

5. Check your caller ID: who is the last person to have called you?

6. READER’S CHOICE QUESTION #27 from Nettie: What would you say is your biggest “character flaw?”

MY ANSWERS:
1. Miniature Snickers bars!

2. Chicago. I visited Los Angeles in 1997, but was pretty much only there for one specific attraction, CBS Television City, so I didn’t explore much of the city. The year before, I visited Chicago (also on business) but spent a full week there and went across town for various promotion seminars. I liked the city, which I found to be surprisingly clean despite it size; I was amazed at how friendly the people generally were; but I did notice that it is the horn-honkingest city I’ve ever been in. Drivers will blow their horn at you if they think you’re even thinking of getting in their way! But don’t get me wrong: I highly recommend Chicago as a nice place to visit.

3. Microwave Oven. It was given to my best friend by a family friend more than 10 years ago. At the time, it was at least 15 years old. But it’s still working without any problems, so it’s a keeper.

4. None. Knock on wood.

5. My mom.

6. Jealousy of Happiness. Yeah, it sounds odd, I know.
